At A Standstill –  A Time to Re-Set

By Jo Hutchinson

The world stands still – hovering over the giant pause button as we adjust to this new reality.  Moving into these last few days of March, the global lockdown now sits around 25% of the world. That’s one in four people.  Something we’ve never seen or experienced before.

I was thinking about our freedoms and how it’s changed through Government intervention. It made me think of Victor Frankl’s famous quote – “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

While some of our freedoms have been taken away, our attitude or mindset is everything.

This time offers us a chance to collectively re-set.  A time to reflect more deeply on our choices, our beliefs and our values. What is truly important in this new decade?

Who we’ve been yields to who we are becoming.

How will you use this time?  For many it is a gift to slow down and re-evaluate the way in which we’ve been leading your lives.  To explore our fears.  To transform our inner world.

And to come face to face with our health and wellbeing, and the wellbeing of the planet.  We are not separate to the environment that we live or work in, we are intricately and delicately linked to it.

Our wellbeing depends on the environment in which we live and work in – each mouthful of food we eat and each breath we take comes from the environment in which it was sourced, be it the land, the sea or an office. Therefore, the health of the whole is paramount for what we do to one, affects the other.  This is not just a human reality but the reality for all life on the planet.

When the health of the planet is under threat, it becomes out of balance which gives rise to dis-ease.  Which is the same for our health – the many stresses of modern-day life that we face without conscious awareness that rob us of our happiness, joy and wellbeing.

This is a time to reflect.

To journal.

To be at home with yourself.

To go within.

To ground and re-connect to the beauty of nature.

To heal.

To acknowledge your great gifts and talents that support you and support the whole.

To connect with something greater than yourself.

To become self-reliant.

To trust.

To stay optimistic and positive.

To work together as One.

To develop your skills and passions.

To find meaning.

To envision world-wide wellbeing (www!) in its widest sense for all.

This is an epic awakening call for us, and all humanity.  It is a point of evolution into the unknown, new potentials and a new world order.  What no longer works or is sustainable is being stripped away, to make way for the new. What has been hidden will be revealed.

Observe and keep an open mind on the news but do not dwell on it.  Focus your attention on your inner journey of transformation and what it is that you wish to create that serves the whole.  Develop and refine your skills and passions. Trust what your intuition reveals to you and follow your heart’s desire.  This is your time.

Know that in the cycle of creation and destruction, everything serves a greater purpose to empower and enlighten us into our highest expression of love.  As Viktor Frankl said in Man’s Search for Meaning – “Those who have a ‘why’ to live, can bear with almost any ‘how.” Your potential depends on the decisions you make, not the conditions you find yourself in.

Time to re-set, transform and adapt.

And lastly, I wanted to let you know that I’m here as a Virtual Coach and Mentor to support your inner transformation through this epic moment, to help you re-envision your world as well as provide Virtual Reiki for your emotional and energetic Wellbeing.  All from the safety and comfort of your own home, Reach out or connect with me in Facebook or Instagram for a daily dose of inspiration and encouragement.

Be well.

Much love,

Jo xx
