I feel like I say this every time I write. Is it me or is the year flying by? How did we end up in May already? With June just around the corner, we’re in the last few weeks of autumn, with the trees slowly releasing their leaves and completing their harvest season.
Often the calendar year is like a game of two halves. And this is what I am feeling as I write.
Be the Change
With the busy-ness of the last 5 months, it feels like we are needing to create a space to catch our breath. May gives us this opportunity as I feel the next 6 months are a catalyst for a lot of change.
So May is a pivotal time to take stock, rethink, review, and reflect on where you’re at, how you’re feeling, and ultimately where you’re headed. What action do you need to take now? What changes do you need to make, be they small tweaks or complete U-turns?
The only constant is change so how can you make it work for you? How can you take control of the steering wheel of your life and live life consciously? You have the power.
This is a powerful time of reflection, questioning, and consciously choosing how we can individually, and collectively create a world where all life prospers.
In an outer world filled with enormous potential for distractions, it can be difficult not to get swept away in the moment, only to find yourself arrive at a completely different destination months later. Now more than ever I believe we need to have more mindful moments where we disconnect consciously from the outer to attend to our inner world and listen to our hearts’ desires. What is your heart calling you to do or be now?
I know for me these last 6 months or so have flown by and I haven’t been as active visibly as I have in the past. My head has been swimming with the issues of AI and questioning how data is used on social media platforms, what it means to have a digital identity and our rights to privacy. I always find it a bit disconcerting when my phone or Google tells me my highlights for the month when I didn’t ask it to, while now I can sit and have a cup of tea with chat GPT to keep me company! And let’s face it, it’s not all bad.
The speed at which AI has arrived and continues to evolve is what I call ‘the internet on steroids’. And whilst it’s a game changer in the world as we know it, I wonder where is the heart? Where is the soul? Artificial intel is artificial, made to be human like and has its place. But let’s not forget our human-self and our common humanity.
So in a world that seems to be becoming more automated and techno driven, I come back to the essence of what it is to be human. To think. To feel. To dream. To connect. To grow and evolve. To experience joy and happiness, sadness and grief. To enjoy the journey. To build real relationships and connections with real people.
Human Intelligence
Let’s not forget HI. What is HI you ask?
Well, I made it up.
It’s Human Intelligence that has the potential to go beyond anything that is man-made.
Already we know the heart’s intelligence is unlimited, but first we must learn how to tap into it and go beyond the classic 5 senses. There is more to us than we can ever imagine and ever know. That is the beauty of being human and going beyond our limits and our conditioning. There is much to master and learn, just as there is much to unlearn.
Our destiny is not about being techno. It’s about mastering the ability to adapt, evolve and keep learning. To raise our consciousness. To create from the heart that benefits all life.
You have a greater purpose to fulfil. To contribute to the betterment of the world we live in. That seed is a dream in your heart waiting to be nurtured and nourished. If not now, then when I ask?
You must go within where all the answers you seek await. And to do that, you need to disconnect from the outer world, and create some space to explore your inner world. It can be as simple as 5 minutes a day of journalling or 5 minutes of meditation. There are many ways, but the important point is making it a daily practice for your peace of mind, joy and well-being.
When I feel frazzled, I look out the window to the nature that surrounds me. And I notice that Nature cares not for the news, new technology or the latest Government policy. It simply adapts to the environment it finds itself in, communicates to support each other, knows how to regenerate, and taps into its innate intelligence to fulfill its destiny.
So I invite you to use this time to take stock, rethink, review, and reflect. The only constant is change so how can you make it work for you?
With love,
Jo
