It’s not yet 1 week since we came together to honour the 100th anniversary of World War I. From all corners of the globe, we remembered those who came before us, whose lives were inexplicably changed by war. We witnessed the record breaking crowds that came to the dawn services both locally and internationally to stand shoulder by shoulder uniting in our common love, compassion and remembrance. Such is the power of people and the human heart that is moved beyond words.
And on the same day as these ANZAC commemorations, Nepal was hit with a life changing 7.8 magnitude earthquake signalling that start of another chapter in our collective evolution. Kathmandu, reportedly shifted 3 m (10 ft) to the south in just 30 seconds, such is the power of the Earth.
And once more, we come together from all over the planet, to stand shoulder to shoulder, to grieve, to love, to help, to console, to share our resources and expertise with our fellow man regardless of race, nationality, age or any other differentiating factor. We unite in our common love for our fellow man and for all people. We are but one tribe of many colours.
It is moments like these that stirs something deep within us, that perhaps help us to see what’s truly important in our lives and help us to open our hearts to be more understanding, more compassionate and ultimately more loving. We see and we feel and once we have seen what we see, we cannot un-see it. The memory remains.
It is easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of life and in the process sacrifice our dreams and wishes.
Life is precious.
Make each moment count.
Live your dream.
